Opened quietly nearly two and a half weeks ago inside of the former L’Ancestral space on Travis Street in Dallas Texas is a friendly neighborhood French bistro, Le Bilboquet. Managed by Laurent Lesort and longtime chef “Momo” Sow the restaurant is light and bright and features a beautiful Matisse painting, a succulent menu of starters, soups and salads. Main dishes of fish, fowl, farm and, of course, a French inspired pewter bartop by Bastille Metal Works.
Perched on the corner of Travis and Armstrong, the space has been given a clean, bright makeover, with authentic touches Lesort says. That includes a dead-on replica of the bar with a custom bar-top made entirely from pewter. The pewter bartop sits atop a rich cherry base and adds to the French aesthetic as customers walk into the bistro. The bartop boasts a large rope edge profile and a bright pewter finish that reflects the natural light that surrounds Le Bilboquet and makes it a friendly neighborhood bistro.
“Thank you Chris, Katiana, and the whole Bastille Metal Works team, the bartop is amazing, and it is so beautiful. I feel I am back home in Paris! Great job.” -Laurent Lesort
